Dr. Gillian Egli
DVM, MRCVS · Co-Owner
Growing up, Dr. Egli was always intrigued by medicine and how bodies work. This, combined with a deep love for all animals, showed her at an early age that the veterinary world was the only future for her.
After two years of undergraduate studies in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Guelph, she was accepted into the Ontario Veterinary College, graduating in 2004. Her career started in mixed animal practice, eventually migrating to emergency medicine. Wanting to spend more time with her growing family, she came to Oakridge in 2010 and joined full time in 2012. In 2015 Dr. Egli and Dr. Moffatt became the proud owners of Oakridge Animal Clinic, and in 2018 they opened Oak West Animal Clinic in the Riverbend area.
Dr. Egli lives on a farm North of London with her husband Dan and their children Julia, Adrian and Nicola. She shares her home with a Saint Bernard named Heidi, a Springer Spaniel named Tristan, a Golden Retriever named Robbie Burns, a cat named Andy, and three horses. She loves running, horseback riding, biking, cross country skiing, hockey, and travel.
Dr. Shannon Moffatt
DVM · Co-Owner
Dr. Shannon Moffatt graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2004 and brings over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine. She began her career in small animal emergency medicine before joining Oakridge Animal Clinic in 2012. She began the journey of clinic ownership in 2015, with Dr. Gillian Egli by her side.
Dr. Moffatt has a strong passion for emergency care, general surgery, pain management, and oral surgery. You will always find her in the surgery suite performing the majority of dental surgeries at the clinics.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Moffatt enjoys time with her family, including her two children, husband, and a variety of pets: four goats, three bunnies, two dogs, and one cat. She has a deep love for travel and staying active, and is thankful for the long-term clients she considers part of her work family.
Dr. Jennifer (Jenn) Gray
DVM · Associate Veterinarian
Jenn grew up in Oakridge and did not always know she would be a veterinarian. In a past life she completed a sports and recreation degree and worked in aquatics management, running swim schools and aquatic centres in Australia. Her first pet, Maddie the shih tzu, inspired her to start volunteering with the RSPCA in Sydney, and she quickly realized that working with animals was the key to happiness.
After graduating from the University of Sydney in 2016, she moved to a remote mining town in Northwest Western Australia, 1,600km from any specialist centre, managing complex cases and a 24 hour on-call service. Some after hours calls included treating sick kangaroos and anesthesia for one of Australia's most deadly snakes, the Western Brown Snake.
Jenn moved back to Canada with her husband Jake and their two children, joining Oakridge and Oak West in February 2021. She has an interest in soft tissue surgery, diagnostic imaging and behaviour medicine. Outside of work she enjoys training her Blue Heeler Digger, working out on her Peloton, and the Canadian winter.
Dr. Amanda Li
DVM · Associate Veterinarian
Amanda knew exactly what she was going to do when she grew up: bring back the dinosaurs. When that proved unlikely, fate changed when she asked for an encyclopedia of dog breeds for her birthday, memorized it cover to cover, and decided to become a veterinarian.
She left her home of Vancouver, BC to attend the University of Guelph, then graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2017. Her passions are soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and medicine, and she strives to attend at least one continuing education event annually.
She joined the Oak West team in December 2021 and can't envision herself anywhere else. When she is not in the clinic, you can find her traveling, dining, reading, or riding dressage with her husband Ryan and their two Portuguese Water Dogs, Wilshire and Halifax.
Dr. Sarah Wells
DVM · Associate Veterinarian
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Dr. Sarah Wells developed a love for animals at a young age. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2013 and, after nearly a decade of experience in small animal medicine, joined Oakridge and Oak West Animal Clinics in October 2022.
Known for her compassionate and gentle nature, Dr. Wells excels at ensuring both pets and their families feel comfortable. Her philosophy emphasizes preventive medicine and working closely with families to provide personalized care. She has special interests in feline medicine, dermatology, and internal medicine.
Dr. Wells lives in London with her two dogs, Juniper and Cedar Berries, and her two cats, Max and Bonsai. When she is not caring for animals, she enjoys hiking with her dogs and time with family and friends.
