The Practitioner

Jennifer Kausky, MSW, RSW.

Jennifer is a Registered Social Worker in private counselling practice. Her clinical focus is couples and marriage therapy delivered through the Gottman Method, which she has trained in at all three of the method's clinical levels.

Individual counselling for adults is offered alongside the couples work, with sessions drawn from broader social-work training: anxiety, life transitions, grief, and the day-to-day pressures that wear on long-term well-being.

The practice is intentionally small. One practitioner, one client at a time, careful hours. Phone calls go directly to Jennifer and are returned between sessions whenever possible.

How the practice works

Four small principles.

01

Gottman first, always

The Gottman Method is the most research-validated approach to couples therapy in the world. It is not a magic-bullet program. It is a careful, structured way to work that takes the long view. Sessions follow the assessment, then build a tailored plan around the actual relationship in front of us.

02

One client, one careful hour

No double-booking, no rushed handoffs. Couples sessions are scheduled with time around them so the work has room to breathe.

03

Honest about scope

If your situation is outside my training, I will say so and help you find the right referral. Common referrals: psychiatric evaluation, addictions specialists, child and adolescent therapists, and trauma-focused therapists for specific modalities like EMDR or somatic experiencing.

04

Receipts for benefits

Every session ends with a receipt under the Registered Social Worker designation. Coverage varies by extended health benefit plan. Please check your specific plan before booking. Self-pay clients are welcome too.
