01
Direct billing where available

Extended Health Benefits

Most extended health plans cover a portion of eye exams, frames, lenses, and contact lenses. We work with most major insurers and submit on your behalf where the plan allows.

Bring your card

Bring your benefits card or app to your appointment. We will look up coverage and let you know what you can use today.

Direct billing

Where your insurer permits it, we bill the plan directly. You pay only the portion not covered. Where it does not, you pay up front and we give you a detailed receipt to claim back.

Frames, lenses, contacts

Most plans renew a frame-and-lens benefit every two years and a contact-lens benefit every year. We help you make the most of what is in your plan.

Honest paperwork

Itemized receipts that match what your insurer needs to reimburse. No mystery line items, no surprise upcharges.

02
Employer and association plans

Group Savings Programs

Many employers, unions, and professional associations have negotiated group savings on eyewear and exams. If your workplace has a plan, those savings apply at our shop. If you are not sure, bring the program name and we will look it up with you.

Employer plans honoured

If your company is part of a group savings program for eyewear, we accept it. Bring the membership info and we will price your visit against the plan.

Association and union members

Unions, professional associations, and member-benefit programs that include vision savings are welcome here.

Add it to your benefits

Most employees do not realise their plan has a group savings rider on top of the standard benefits. We help you stack the two correctly.

Spouse and dependent coverage

Many plans cover the whole family. If your spouse or kids are on the same plan, book together and stretch the benefit further.

03
Kids under 20 and seniors 65+

OHIP Coverage

In Ontario, OHIP covers a routine eye exam once a year for residents 19 and under, and once a year for residents 65 and over. If that is you or someone in your house, the exam itself is covered, no out-of-pocket.

Kids under 20

One OHIP-covered routine eye exam every twelve months. Bring the OHIP card. We recommend a first exam by age three or earlier if you notice anything off.

Seniors 65 and over

One OHIP-covered routine eye exam every twelve months. Important for tracking changes related to cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, and AMD.

Diabetes coverage

OHIP covers an annual exam for any age when a diabetes diagnosis is on file. Bring documentation if this is your first visit.

Frames and lenses

Frames and lenses are not covered by OHIP. That is where your extended benefits or a group savings program comes in.

04
Early sales and trunk-show invites

VIP Mailing List

Our VIP list is a small one. A few times a year we run trunk shows with our frame reps, end-of-season sales, and quiet pre-sales for our regulars. Ask at the counter or call the shop and we will add you.

Trunk show invites

When a brand rep visits the shop and brings the full collection plus a sale price for the day, our VIP list hears first.

End-of-season sales

Frames rotate seasonally. When we clear last season's models to make room, the list gets first pick.

Pre-sale on new arrivals

When a new collection lands, our regulars get a heads up and a chance to try them on before the rest of the wall sees them.

How to join

Easiest: ask at the counter on your next visit, or call the shop and we will add you. No spam, no third-party sharing.

What to bring

Three things help us help you.

01

Your benefits card

The plastic card or the app screenshot. Either works. We need the plan name and the member ID.

02

OHIP card if applicable

Kids under 20 and seniors 65+ get an OHIP-covered exam every year. Bring the card so we can submit on your behalf.

03

Your current glasses

Even if they are old. They tell us what you have been wearing so we can read the prescription against what your eyes are doing now.

Not sure what you are covered for?

Call the shop.
We'll look it up with you.

Have the plan name handy. A two-minute call usually clears up exactly what you can use and when.
