What is an audiologist?
Audiologists are educated in prevention, identification, assessment, treatment, and (re)habilitation of hearing loss in adults and children. They are authorized to prescribe hearing aids when necessary.
An audiologist is a regulated health professional with a minimum of a Masters degree. To obtain this degree, a minimum of six years post-secondary education is required, plus 750 clinical hours completed, followed by a six month mentorship to be a full General member of CASLPO.
Signs of hearing loss

Types of hearing loss
- Sensorineural. The inner ear is affected.
- Conductive. The middle ear is affected.
- Mixed. A combination of sensorineural and conductive losses.

Which hearing aid is right for me?
Modern aids range from invisible in-canal devices to behind-the-ear models that stream from a phone. We recommend a device specific to your unique hearing profile, your ear shape, and your everyday listening environment, never to a buying-group quota.
What is tinnitus?
Tinnitus is the perception of sound when there is no external auditory stimulus. It can be described as a ringing, buzzing, or noise in a person's ears. A hearing exam can help identify whether the tinnitus is linked to a hearing change.
Costs. Many third-party insurers cover all or part of the cost of hearing aids. ADP (Assistive Devices Program) covers a portion for qualifying patients. We will walk you through what your plan covers before any decision.
