The core visit

Comprehensive Eye Exams

A full optometric eye exam checks visual acuity, refraction, eye coordination, peripheral vision, and the health of the front and back of each eye. The starting point for routine care.

Vision and Refraction

Reading-chart testing, refractive measurement, and a current prescription if you wear glasses or contacts.

Ocular Health Check

An examination of the eyelids, cornea, lens, retina, and optic nerve to catch early signs of disease.

Plain English Findings

Results explained in language you can act on. No jargon, no pressure to upgrade to anything you do not need.

New and experienced wearers

Contact Lens Fittings

From first-time wearers to seasoned contact users with changing eyes. Daily, biweekly, and monthly lens options. A trial pair and a quick tutorial on insertion, removal, and lens care.

New Wearer Fittings

A trial pair, insertion and removal practice, and follow-up to confirm the fit feels right after a week of normal wear.

Lens Refits

If your current lenses no longer feel right, a refit reassesses curvature, prescription, and material before re-ordering.

Specialty Lenses

Multifocal, toric for astigmatism, and dry-eye-friendly daily lenses where appropriate.

Glasses and Frames

Frame selection and lens consultations at Westmount Centre. Single vision, progressives, anti-reflective coatings, and blue-light filters where appropriate. Take the prescription elsewhere if you prefer, no pressure.

Lens Consultations

Burning, tearing, screen strain

Dry Eye Consultations

A focused consult for tearing, burning, gritty, or screen-fatigued eyes. The right diagnosis first, then the right combination of home options, drops, and follow-up.

Dry Eye Assessment

An evaluation of tear film, eyelid health, and the workplace and home habits that drive symptoms.

Home Care Options

Drops, warm compress routines, lid hygiene, and screen-time habits adjusted to your case.

Follow-up

A check-back to confirm the plan is working. Adjustments to drops or routine if symptoms persist.

OHIP covered for patients with diabetes

Diabetic Eye Exams

Annual diabetic eye health exams are covered by OHIP for Ontario residents with a diabetes diagnosis. Catches diabetic retinopathy and related changes before they affect vision.

Retinal Examination

Dilated examination of the retina to check for diabetic retinopathy, swelling, or vessel changes.

Pressure Check

Intraocular pressure measurement to rule out glaucoma alongside diabetic eye disease.

Coordination with Your GP

Findings sent to your family doctor and diabetes care team if anything needs follow-up.

OHIP covered under 19

Children's Eye Exams

Children up to and including age 19 in Ontario qualify for an annual OHIP-covered eye exam. Early checks catch lazy eye, focus issues, and prescription needs before school becomes a struggle.

Vision and Focus Testing

Age-appropriate testing for visual acuity, focus, depth perception, and how the eyes work together.

Eye Health Check

A full health check of the front and back of each eye. Cataracts and structural issues are not adult-only.

School Readiness

Helping parents understand what an undiagnosed prescription does to reading speed, attention, and behaviour.
