Good questions

Common questions, in plain English

What should I expect at my first appointment?

A conversation about why you are here, a thorough ear inspection, and a diagnostic hearing test in a sound-treated room. We walk through the results with you and recommend next steps in plain language.

Do you bill insurance directly?

Yes, in most cases. We bill WSIB, Veterans Affairs Canada, ODSP, Ontario Works, First Nations & Inuit Health and the Ontario Assistive Devices Program (ADP) directly. Private insurance varies, ask us when you book.

Does ADP cover hearing aids?

The Ontario Assistive Devices Program (ADP) covers 75% of the cost of approved hearing devices for eligible residents. We help you complete the paperwork and bill ADP directly.

Why are there no patient testimonials on the site?

The Ministry of Health does not permit regulated health care professionals, including audiologists, to publish testimonials. We are happy to talk you through what a typical patient experience looks like in person.

Which hearing aid brand is best?

There is no single best brand. We fit ReSound, Phonak, Widex, Starkey, Unitron, Bernafon and Sivantos, and the right one for you depends on your hearing prescription, your lifestyle and your budget. We give an independent recommendation.

Do you see children?

Yes. We offer pediatric diagnostic hearing assessments for infants, children and teens. The room is calm and the test is age-appropriate.

What if I just need my ears cleaned?

Earwax removal is one of our most common appointments and usually takes a single visit. Call to book.
