01
Trauma, PTSD, stuck memories

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a structured, eight-phase trauma therapy with strong research support. Johnson is EMDR-Trained through the EMDR International Association and uses the standard protocol for both single-event and complex trauma.

EMDR Therapy

Eight-phase EMDR protocol

History-taking, preparation, assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, closure, and re-evaluation. Each session has a clear structure rather than open-ended discussion.

Single-event trauma

Accidents, assaults, medical events, or specific incidents that the nervous system has not fully processed. Often a shorter EMDR course than complex-trauma work.

Complex and developmental trauma

Trauma woven through childhood, attachment, or ongoing harm. Longer treatment, with phase-two stabilisation work alongside reprocessing.

02
Compulsive behaviour and recovery

CSAT and Sexual Addiction

Certified Sex Addiction Therapist training, used to support individuals working through compulsive sexual behaviour and their partners through betrayal trauma. The work is confidential, clinical, and longer-term than a quick consultation.

Individual recovery

Assessment, treatment planning, and step-by-step recovery work for compulsive sexual behaviour using the IITAP-grounded CSAT framework.

Betrayal trauma support

Partners affected by sexual addiction receive their own clinical support, with care taken to keep the two tracks of recovery separate when needed.

Disclosure and repair

Structured disclosure conversations, repair work, and relationship recovery for couples choosing to rebuild after compulsive behaviour comes to light.

03
Systems-based clinical work

Family and Couples Therapy

Couples and family therapy delivered from a systems framework. The whole relational picture comes into the room, including the longer history of how each member learned to do conflict, connection, and repair.

Family and Couples Therapy

Couples therapy

Communication, conflict, sex and intimacy, parenting, finances, and the long-running patterns most partnerships face. Both partners attend together.

Family sessions

Inter-generational dynamics, parenting collaboration, and family-of-origin patterns brought into the present. Children and extended family can attend as appropriate.

Repair after sexual betrayal

When a couple is processing compulsive behaviour, the couples track sits alongside the individual CSAT and betrayal-trauma tracks. Sessions are paced carefully.

04
Anxiety, depression, identity

Individual Counselling

Alongside the specialist EMDR and CSAT work, the practice offers individual counselling for adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity questions. Sessions are 50 minutes, typically weekly or biweekly.

Anxiety and depression

Talk therapy approaches integrated with EMDR where appropriate. The right cadence and length of treatment is set at the assessment.

Identity and life transitions

Career changes, family-of-origin patterns, faith and meaning-making questions, and the slow renegotiation of identity over time.

Spiritual and pastoral care

Drawing on Master of Divinity and Master of Pastoral Studies training. For clients whose faith is part of the conversation, those questions have space.

05
Booking, format, receipts

How sessions work

Sessions are booked by phone. Initial intake is longer than follow-up sessions so the assessment and treatment plan can be built carefully. Receipts are issued at every session for submission to extended health benefits where applicable.

Phone booking

Call 226-779-8130 to book. Leave a voicemail if Johnson is in session and the call is returned between appointments, usually the same business day.

Initial intake

60 to 75 minute intake for individuals; longer for couples and family work. EMDR and CSAT clients leave intake with a clear sense of the treatment plan and timeline.

Receipts for benefits

Receipts are issued at the end of each session under the Registered Psychotherapist designation. Coverage varies by plan, please confirm with your benefits provider.
